It Seems Like Years Since It's Been Clear

So far this offseason my team has chosen not to re-sign one of the best and nicest players (Johnny Damon), and also THE best first baseman (Casey Kotchman).

instead they have signed:

-A rapist
-A violent dude
-A birther, who is also racist (he throws banana chips at his Dominican teammates to remind them not to act "savage")

I am not pleased. Hopefully the racist starts trouble with the violent dude and they end up beating each other out of a job, and then the rapist catches on fire.

Had yet another blue sim baby. It's a different shade of blue this time. I need to check the way I have these skins geneticized because white sims should not be popping out blue babies at this frequency. Actually one of them had a different color baby, but the skintone was so unflattering (it was a yellowish cream and made her features look flat and bizarre) that I changed it.

So we're on day whatever of #IvyIllness2011. Since my last post I got WAY WORSE and then better. Worse because my nose went insane and my coughing got so bad I nearly threw up (but I didn't, because I don't do that). I decided against going to the doctor and instead requested Mucinex DM, aka my personal miracle drug, which so far has worked amazingly. I still feel stuffy, but I don't have the runny nose or urge to cough, so: victory.

My mother bought me Kleenex Cool Touch tissues, which have aloe and mineral oil and all kinds of shit in them and actually tell you to keep them below 75 degrees. MY TISSUES HAVE A TEMPERATURE PREFERENCE. They are fabulous and my horribly red under-nose area is already starting to look better.

I almost feel human again! I wrote a little bit (gasp) and I even cut out a skirt out of real non-felt fabric for Frankie. I'm not sure if I'm going to bother hemming it even if I did draw a seam allowance (omg look at me almost knowing what I'm talking about, I am ~hot stuff~). I'm dreading putting on the snaps but let's hope it works! Then all I have to do is find a top since Frankie comes with a dress and I can't just stick a clashing skirt on underneath it. It has a paisley pattern and is burgundy with some blue in it- my mother bought it to make a cushion for an old chair out of, which she's already done.

The conversation (a week or so back) went something like this:
Me: " ARE YOU DOING ANYTHING WITH THIS" indicating small patch of light blue fabric in a drawer
My Mother: "No. You should put this in there, too." hands me red paisley whatever fabric
Me: "ARE YOU FINISHED WITH IT"
My Mother: "Yes."
Me: "OKAY THANK YOU" scurries away, hunched over and looking shifty, carrying an armful of fabric scraps
My Mother: doesn't ask questions because she doesn't give a shit

The small font and lack of punctuation is to indicate my extreme shiftiness during all of this. My mother doesn't know I have new dolls or that I'm making clothes for them, and she hasn't asked what I've been doing with the sewing kit. She doesn't really care. It's not that my mother is uninterested in my life, it's just that she usually assumes that if I have something to tell her, I will.

But I think it's also that she doesn't find the small doings of my life that interesting. I live kind of like a house pet, in that I scurry around doing things and no one pays attention. I wander from room to room eating or internetting or sewing up doll skirts by myself, which is basically the way I've always lived since I'm an only child, and my mother's just not going to feign curiosity in whatever squirrelesque thing I'm doing today. My father hasn't asked either but he's usually a bit clueless. And anyway I can't tell if my mother would offer me tips or be annoyed that I'm 23 and jobless and playing with dolls.

Probably both, actually.

In more adult interests my baseball team needs to stop losing rtfn plz and ty.
Also it's getting cooler outside and suddenly my room is cold and I have an extra blanket and I DON'T WANT THIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSS.

I am going to read a book I read once and loved in my teens. I hope I don't discover some sort of unsettling anti-feminist themes or something that totally ruins it.

~New Gaga song came out recently. Just a remix of a song from the new album, BUT STILL. May is going to be such a good month. And Born This Way comes out so soon! On my mother's birthday, in fact.

~New Britney too!

~Maybe even new Kylie but idk about that.

~Valentine's Day is soon and I have someone to spend it with.

~My Hello Kitty nail polish is awesome rn. My nails are just the perfect length/shape and it is awesome.

~I'm getting into Girls Aloud (again). HOW ARE THEY SO AWESOME. And hot. How are they so hot? Mysteries of life.

~AMERICAN IDOL STARTED AGAIN AND THIS SEASON IS ALREADY AWESOME. I love J.Lo so much. I feel like she's my long-lost aunt. Her sense of humor is like exactly like my family's and some of her inflections are even like ours. And we're not even Hispanic. (We're Italian and she comes from the same neighborhood my parents are from. Which isn't nearly as bad as she makes it sound sometimes.) Of course ontd_ai makes it even better. It's just so much fun to watch it with a big group.

~I'm following the best tumblrs rn. So many gorgeous picturesjsdfhsjdf.

~My team signed two big names who could potentially be awesome. SUDDENLY THE TEAM DOESN'T SUCK ANYMORE. I mean, they're old and there's a good possibility they won't be awesome, but right now I have hope. And that feels good after the gutting the team had in the offseason. So many of my favorite players left.

~It's one of Boyfriend's best friend's birthdays on Friday and we're going to Gasparilla (which is like Florida's Mardi Gras). BEADSSSSSS. I've never been before and I am so excited but I have nothing hot to weaaaaar and I'm the hottest girl so I need to step up my game. I am so not used to being the hottest in a group. The natural order of the world is all off-kilter rn.

BJ Upton just hit for the cycle! Why he's doing so well now (with three non-important games left of the season) instead of, you know, while they were still in it for the playoffs, I have no idea. But still.

No, that's stupid as shit. I think horoscopes are general enough to give you a lift if you read them and take their advice (work harder, rest easier, whatever) if it actually applies to your life, but I think it works by coincidence. I can be stupidly superstitious (I'm a baseball fan, can't help it) but I don't really believe in any of that. It's just stories.

That said, I'm a scaredy-cat who gets spooked when she sees scary pictures online, so it's not that hard to rattle me. But I know I'm being stupid.

The Rays lost horribly tonight, 10-1. Had I been watching it at home I would have changed the channel. I'm glad I got to see my heroes play live, and my binoculars were pretty awesome, but I'm sorry the stupid game sucked so badly. It was truly awful.

In other news, my father bought my mother a little GPS thingie yesterday and I've been playing with it ever since. It is the single most awesome piece of technology I've ever played with. It's my new toy. It's supposed to be my mother's, but she hasn't really had time to figure it out yet. It has a touch screen and is super smart and everything. I <3 it. We named it Maggie, because the brand is Magellan but it talks with a woman's voice. It has all kinds of information about any place in the whole US and like Mexico and crap that you'd want to go. So awesome.

I'm not even going to talk about how depressed I am about the stupid game. Maybe they'll win tomorrow. :(
