So, I feel like I should mention that I was sick all last week with some sort of pukey thing. I threw up only once, but the after effects lasted from Monday to Sunday, when I woke up feeling miraculously better and ate the entire house. This broke a no-vomit streak I've had since February of 2005. In fact I woke up on Monday feeling awful (after several days of decreased appetite) and angrily willed myself not to throw up, and spent the next few hours proud of my own stubborness and ability to control my body but in terrible pain, after which my stomach took matters into its own hands and the rest was history. We have a cream colored carpet (whose brilliant idea was that?) but everything seems to have worked out fine.

Because I have some sort of slothlike metabolism, I spent an entire week not eating solid food- this is not an exaggeration- and lost no weight at all.

I suspect I will not be sick again until at 2012, although since this wasn't my annual sinus infection there's still time. I seem to have passed through the change of seasons' allergies without any problems, but we'll see.

In other news, Boyfriend gave me a gigabyte of ram as a get-well present and Aphrodite seems to be running a bit better. Sims in particular zooms, which brings me great joy. I mean, I'd run the internet off of a typewriter hooked up to a telephone and a box with a piece of glass on it and I'd be happy if it weren't for my unfortunate sims addiction, which requires a decent graphics card (which I sort-of have) and memory (which I didn't have, until now). Sims is pretty much my greatest joy in life, besides [livejournal.com profile] ontd_ai.

In other other news I received a letter from Megan whose lj name I can't remember but who is @mcaro5 on twitter and whom I adore, and now that I'm sure I won't transmit terrible pukey germs through the mail I can reply to her. Anyone wanna say hi?

Baseball season starts on Friday and I am about to jump off of my roof in excitement.

Also also did you guys realize there are currently THREE pregnant Spice Girls? jfc. Geri and Mel C must be jeals.

OKAY BYE.

Eh eh

er, why am I here again?

lol I forget. Anyway, I'm so ready for April. Soooooo ready for warmer weather on a more predictable scale, BASEBAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL SEEEEEEAAAAAAAASSSSSSOOOOOOOOOON, and... er, I think that's it. But it's still exciting.

Plus it may hold new single news for Kylieeeeeee. Her album is going to come out around June, or so whisper the ~insiders~, so we should get more concrete news in April at least. And Gaga's releasing Alejandro as a singleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee SO EXCITED I LOVE THAT SONG SFM.

I know a lot of Kylie fans would haaaaate it but if Gaga and Kylie did something together for some reason I would DIE. I would die so dead. Just explode in a million dead pieces.

I think Paul's also touring but I suspect I will be missing out on that. Tickets, even the cheaper ones, cost something like the price of a small reliable used car, so... that's out of the question.

In eyelid news, it got worse yesterday but today seems mostly normal. It still hurts a teensy bit if I poke it but if I ignore it I forget anything's wrong so I think by tomorrow it'll be okay.

I also just replied to Dannii on twitter. I'm getting better at this celebrity tweeting stuff. :D

By the way, my twitter name is Ivyette (which is the same as my username on last.fm). If for some reason you want to add me on either site, that would be lovely.

Eyes

you guys

why is my left eyelid swollen?

Yesterday it just hurt, like I'd slept wrong on my eye or something (which... I've actually done before. Or maybe it's the same thing except not as bad?) because I'm stupid and I sleep with my face on my favorite doll and she has plastic limbs and like maybe one pinched me or some shit idk.

but today it's a bit puffier. It really doesn't look that different to me but my mother's all OMG OH NO~ and usually it's the other way around (usually I convince myself I must be dying or having some sort of horrible rare disease and she looks at me with That Look and goes "Yes, I get that too. EVERYONE gets that." and goes about her business. Unless it's a cold-tye thing in which case she won't even look at me until my temperature goes above like 102, and considering my normal temperature is about 97.2, that takes a lot.).

So that's a bit worrisome. Both eyes are itchy and my throat is a teeeeeny bit scratchy and I feel like coughing every so often, so the current thought here is that it must be allergies. If it gets worse I'll go to the Walgreens doctor people, they're the cheapest. She gave me some benadryl (or at least, a store version... dipenhydramine, I think it's spelled?) so I'm waiting to see what happens there. It's supposed to make you sleepy but I think it makes me hyper.

It's not red or anything, the insides look the same as the insides of my other eye, and the eyeballs themselves both look exactly the same. So... whatever. That eye's always been squintier anyway. I can deal.

I've just started rewriting my "book". From scratch this time.

Also, I went to the doctor yesterday because my ears were hurting like bitches. I was afraid I had the lamest of all non-serious illnesses, the ear infection, since THE WATER IS STILL IN THERE WTF.

Doctor said I have a sinus infection that's making the water hurt, but some medicine will clear it all up nice and happy and I'll be able to hear again, please and thank you.
I'm impressed my ears have gone this long with water in them without getting infected or damaged in any way. My immune system is awesome, you guys. This is my first illness of any kind this year, and I didn't even realize I had a sinus infection (I thought maybe it was allergies or something, I don't know.) I'm not coughing or sniffling, and I only feel a little bit sick (and a lot more tired than usual) so everything's great.

But my book is going to be so good when I get it published in 2050, I swear.
