Short answer: when lj was still on the code system, deadjournal wasn't, so I got one. When lj dropped codes (after deadjournal implemented them, heh) I came over here, and used the same username. (I use that deadjournal as a daily links list, in a private entry there's a list of all of the links I go to every day so I can keep it in a convenient tab while I go look at webcomics and my e-mail and funny blogs and such.)

Long answer: We used to be crazy LotR fangirls who were into the barely tangentially related Legolas/Mary Sue fanfiction, and Ivy B. Greenflower was my ~elf name~ despite not actually being an elf name. (lol, fail, self.) The name comes from 2001; this journal was started in 2003, after I already didn't care about the fanfiction anymore (I remained a lotr fangirl, tho. Still am. Cannot wait for the new movies.)
Because this journal has so much of my life in it I've never gotten a new one, and I can't afford a name change token (and probably wouldn't if I could.)

I had a greatestjournal under this name but it died. Ivybgreenflower is my username in a lot of places (I have a side account on neopets, for example) although recently I've been using Ivyette (it's shorter). There does seem to be some other Ivyette online tho, I google and get this Xanga that I know can't be mine because Xanga is the one site I've never used.

So today I got the paperback of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs in the mail. I wasn't expecting it but I got a hunch to check outside my door, and there it was! So that was a nice surprise. I wanted to get the book before the movie came out and possibly changed the book or something, since the illustrations are the best part of the whole thing. It's such a cute book. I loved it so much when I was little. And now I can give it to my child(ren) someday.

Also I just added lj-notify to my safe senders list (I haven't gotten e-mailed comments in years, so it always looks like I'm ignoring people) and I think I finally fixed it. I'll be testing it soon.

-Livejournal just layed off 13 employees and people who are smart are backing up their journals (I used http://fawx.com/software/ljarchive/, which was pretty easy, and lj itself has a backup program but it doesn't save comments) and although there really isn't any indication that livejournal is going down, if you keep up with lj news obsessively, you'll have seen the pattern. So... yeah.

-Still almost sick. My temperature is 99.2.

-Britney Spears' next single will be a song called "If U Seek Amy." Yeah, say it out loud. Yeeeeah. (The rest of the album is so much better than that stupid gimmicky crap, grr. If I have to hear overproduced nonsense, at least make it better than that, dudes.)

-Half-Blood Prince is being rated PG. Whut

Okay, livejournal, STOP CHANGING THINGS. It's just like New Facebook: a lot of white space, a lot of horizontal whatthehells, and no information I actually care about in one place. Everything's all stretched out and STUPID. JUST LIKE NEW FACEBOOK. I've been ignoring like everything on Facebook (even more than usual, so... sorry if you've sent me anything) because I can't even find it. Too much white space, dudes.
My new profile is so ugly and confusing and stupid and WHITE. ENOUGH.

I finally got a new icon! My first new icon since December 2003, when I got my livejournal and uploaded the first three. I made this one, because I make all of my icons. I'm l33t like that, yo. It's Sailor Moon (that other pointy thing in the corner is her daughter's hair) with cherries and pink hair. Lately I've gotten really into my obsession with cherries (that I've kind of always had but now it's worse). So I decided to use two of my loves, Sailor Moon and cherries, to make a new icon. I've been thinking of what to do for a new icon ever since lj went from 3 icons to 6, and I finally decided on one. Yay! K, bye.
