because it was THE BEST FOOD EVER.

and I'm thankful for you guys. <33

I've queued up some sims caps at my simblr in case you're interested :D

time to get some sleep before MOAR BLACK FRIDAY (because my birthday is Saturday so Friday is BUY ME MORE STUFF day, because I am materialistic.)
ivyette: (Hello Kitty)
So, yesterday was my birthday. I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving, as drama-free as possible.

My birthday was pretty good, as birthdays go, but in the middle of the day Boyfriend and I popped back to my house to pick up something my mother forgot and then we got stuck here because his truck broke. We went into the house, came back out, and it was all "lol no." It didn't even turn over. It just didn't start at all. My father came and tried to use his jumper cables but nope. Didn't help. So we had to wait for Boyfriend's family to take their sweet-ass time to get around to coming up here to see what they could do (like... what? what do they expect to accomplish in my front yard?) and it took forever for me to get back to my grandma's and by then everyone had already eaten :( There was plenty of food, but I didn't eat as much as I had been planning to. Oh well.

I got good presents though (I'll take pictures later) and we had a little midnight Black Friday adventure. Boyfriend and I stood on line for Old Navy and he bought a bunch of things, including some jeans and a scarf for me. I even got a coupon because it was my birthday, but it was only a dollar :( Old Navy sucks at sales and coupons and stuff. My parents went with us which was funny. We avoided Target and Walmart because of the GIGANTIC UNREAL LINES. The entire town was at Target, you guys. But after we did Old Navy and then Walmart, we swung back around to Target, which had cleared up by 3:30 and so I got a few Hello Kitty trinkets from the dollar section.

We were supposed to go out today, Boyfriend and I, for my birthday, but the truck is still broke, so. No birthday shopping and eating and other... activities for me :( I has a sad. We'll set a makeup date, though, I'm sure. <3

But I had a nice day, and I spent it with the people who matter, so. I'm not complaining at all. I got what I wanted except my sims EP which will be late. I think everyone who knows me knows what to get for me, so I never get anything I don't want. I love to be surprised and everyone always seems to know how to do it. :D

the end. <3

-11:51 PM

WAIT EDIT EDIT I FORGOT TO SAY: thank you everyone for indulging me. It can't be easy to put up with someone so stupidly obsessed with her birthday, but you've all gone out of your way to make me feel all special and warm inside, and I really appreciate it. I love you so much. <3

ivyette: (Gwen - Secrets (From deadjournal))
So I never post here about my actual life despite this being my journal, and all. So bscly I have gotten through (I don't want to say "over" because that trivializes it for me and for everyone else who suffers) whatever bout of depression I had had for about a month there. (seriously, it was so awful.) But I feel mostly normal now! Except now I have a month of laziness to pick up after. My room looks like a warzone and I still don't really feel up to it :(

I have four Monster High dolls now: Draculaura and Frankie, plus the Gloom Beach version of Clawdeen, which is cheaper and comes with less but is still really worth it, and the basic Ghoulia, who is PERFECT. Like all nerdy girls want to believe they're Ghoulia. She wears awesome glasses and has awesome hair and wears a piano key belt and a shirt with cherries and a cute necklace and fishnet arm warmers and has knee-hight black, white, and red converse sneakers that, by the way, are like 6 inch heels. And pink zipper-pull earrings. And a diary with a bonus bookmark! eeeeeee. Clawdeen's 80s-looking rainbow cheetah print bathingsuit is a one-piece with a shorts-looking bottom with a cute (sadly attached) belt, and a removable also 80s-looking pink and black striped top. She has 4 earrings: pink, purple, blue, and green. And her hair is streaked with purple! Therefore she is cooler than the other Clawdeen I thought I wanted. Her hair is so frizzy I had to put it in pigtails with elastic bands from her packaging but that's okay. She also came with sunglasses, a frisbee, and a postcard. Oh, and shoes, too, and a brush and a stand, because Monster High dolls come with everything they need. Ghoulia has a stand and brush too, and also a purse that looks like a cassette tape, and her little owl named Sir Hoots-a-Lot who clips on her arm. Oh and did I mention Ghoulia has sparkly eyeshadow like Draculaura? They could have totally skimped on her eye makeup because of her giant glasses, but nope.

We went to Toys R Us last week and I spotted a single Ghoulia behind all the other dolls. Then Boyfriend confessed he'd already ordered one, so being the kind and benevolent person I am, I tucked her back in the back, where I'm pretty sure someone had deliberately hidden her. I hope whoever it was went back and found her! So that night I got the only Clawdeen they had. Then this weekend I got my Ghoulia! So now I have four and I think that's plenty, for now. I put Clawdeen in a pair of Barbie jeans that are super old over her bathing suit, because it's cold! She looks kind of 90s with her little belly shirt and giant baggy jeans.

I Ghoulia and Clawdeen the little bracelets I'd made for them forever ago so now all four of them have matching friendship bracelets. ...yeah, in my spare time I make doll bracelets. This is my life.

Anyway, I also tasted lobster and cried, but I ate a whole shrimp without gagging!

I've been taking a multivitamin (with hair supplement) for a few months now, and also started taking extra (completely safe, don't worry) hair supplement. The result has been my eyelashes are growing like weeds. I know I've mentioned it before, but now even my bottom lashes are getting into it and there's a definite noticable change in how they look without any makeup. This is important news, okay. Better I talk about this than depressing things, right? Also my bangs are getting longer. Which isn't a surprise, because hair does grow, but still, I'm happy. I really hate my bangs :(

I forget if I even mentioned this but my grandmother tripped and broke her foot. She's getting all gloom and doom like ~this is the beginning of the end~ but really, she didn't lose her balance because she's old or got dizzy or fainted or anything, she just tripped. She's being stubborn and not really letting her foot heal properly, but I hope she does soon because diabetics can lose their feet if they aren't careful.

anyways have I mentioned here that Boyfriend makes me play Magic with him? (and I like it?) I should document that in case future Ivy comes to read about her life. (hi, self! HAVE YOU HAD BABIES YET?)

I still collect Hello Kitty stuff too but they don't have any in the Target dollar section so my collecting has dwindled. Which is just as well because I don't need to hoard any more. I did get a tiny package of stickers from the cards/games section at Walmart though (Boyfriend was buying moar magic!11).

oh! Walmart had their Halloween costumes on sale so I got a Draculaura outfit. It fits because I'm short. I'd worried that I'd be too fat, but it fits! So now I have a costume for next year, assuming I can find pink boots by then. Heh.

oh, one last thing, I hope I get one of those cheap mini Lalaloopsy dolls for my birthday. HAPPY BIRTH MONTH TO ME~~ because as you all know I'm obnoxious about my birthday and I celebrate the whole month because I am obnoxious.

I WILL PLAY MOAR SIMS SOON OK BAI.

-Kylie released a small snippet of her new single, All The Lovers, the release date of the single, the album title and cover (Aphrodite). The snippet sounds fantastic, the title sounds cool, the album name is gorgeous, the cover art is spectacular. I was so worried I wouldn't like it (some of Kylie's stuff leaves me a bit cold, if you can believe that). Last time I was this anxious about an album release I was thoroughly disappointed (I've never mentioned it before, but I never really liked Kris's album, and loathe Live Like We're Dying... even if I do leave it on on the radio out of loyalty), but even after hearing the snippet and seeing the cover I'm still so excited I could explode, so that's good. A Kylie song leaked last week or two weeks ago or something called Love Love Love which I also really, really like. Plus the crappiest possible quality of a long-unheard unused song for her 1994 album leaked and that sounded good too (her albums from the mid-90s are my least favorite, so this was a pleasant surprise.) I hope it leaks in good quality soon.

-I'm officially a Little Monster. I am a huuuuuuge Gaga fan. I'm so happy they chose Alejandro as the next single, I love it.

-Yesterday was my boyfriend's birthday. I took him to Chili's and gave him a copy of my favorite Kylie album (Light Years). Then we watched a British show I like that's on on Saturday nights that Kylie guest starred on in the 90s and I flailed about seeing her on US tv.

-I feel like there must be more to say, but there isn't. Oh! I got my Adam/Rays tickets in the mail and flailed. They're on the bulletin board rn. I can't wait for September.

-I still love my sims.

A hug. It's something only you can give, and a lot of times people who have "everything" have it at the cost of building up their personal relationships.

That said, no one knows what to get me for my birthday, because I have everything and need nothing. This is kind of depressing.

Told my boyfriend to get me one of the nailpolishes from Claire's that has three colors in it. It seems like it would come out looking like crap, but I really want one for some reason.

OMG MY BIRTHDAY IS SO SOON CRAP

You know what I don't like about getting my hair cut? Getting it cut, of course (only two inches, though). You know what I DO like? Compliments from strangers. I love it when people love my hair. It was on its best behavior today, showing off for the hair ladies and everything. I love my hair. <3

I haven't been posting because I'm too cold. I've even been too cold to write. My book is suffering.

And I'll be 21 on Monday! ...which changes nothing, actually, except that I did some supercute pixel drawings of drinks. Maybe I'll post them on Monday. I won't be drinking the real thing, but they certainly look tasty, I have to admit. They don't live up to their promises.

It's 34 degrees outside. I'm gonna go back into hibernation now, kbye.

My phone just beeped to tell me it's my birthday.
It's not, of course. It's not even my half birthday. (That's on May 24th and I am so having cake for it.)

Maybe it was saying I should be working. I haven't written anything tonight yet. Erk.

So, today was my birthday.
It was excellent, as non-childhood birthdays go. Got to wake up late, see my boyfriend, see my family, eat mini burgers and awesome fries and an awesome strawberry lemonade at Ruby Tuesdays, got really neat presents (pretty much exactly what I wanted but never expected to get) from everyone, and generally felt really, really peaceful.

I guess now's as good a time as any to discuss my life plans, as people seem to be worrying and I really wish they wouldn't. They change often, though, but as of this moment:
-I'll be working for one of my father's mortgage/real estate related companies very soon
-Been writing secret, non-discussable writing projects (and have been pleased with what I'm coming up with, and have tentative possible publishing plans... let's just say I've finally figured out how to make short stories marketable)
-Been discussing starting a business with my mother selling children's hairbows, accessories, and other children-related stuff that's hard to find in big chain stores

I have truly decided that I will not be attending college. I know this sounds a bit crazy, but I just don't feel that it's for me. And there's no time limit; if I feel, later in my life, that I need to have a degree or just some classes, I can always take some at PHCC, or wherever. It's just not necessary as of this moment in my life. Not that college isn't a very, very good thing; it is, and it can be a really wonderful opportunity for the kind of learning you just can't get stuck in a small town. But for me? Not necessary. Trust me, I'm better off not in school.

I'm still learning how to drive. It's going frustratingly slow, but it is going.

Things with my boyfriend are also amazing. I love him more than I ever thought it was possible to love someone, a really genuine feeling, and not just of attachment; I admire him, I look up to him, I enjoy his company, our ideals are the same... things are just really peachy. <3

"JK Rowling" sent me an e-card: http://www.bloomsbury.com/harrypotter/bdayowl/default.asp?id=21105

Oh my God, the woman who plays Moaning Myrtle in the Harry Potter movies has my birthday! And she's... 42? Wtf?
I should totally go as her for Halloween or something, heh.

19!

Today was my nineteenth birthday. I didn't get nearly as many presents as I have in years past, but that's okay. I bought myself a vintage/used bangle in Ybor (where my parents took me + boyfriend) and three necklaces in a Claire's down there. I'm telling you, no matter where I am as long as there's a Claire's I'm happy. It's weird, but I walk into one and I feel an immense sense of peace, like the way religious people feel when they go to church or something. Yeah, I'm weird.
My grandparents gave me a cookbook and a Beatles book that I (surprisingly!) didn't already have. They were really pleased about that, although now my grandmother expects me to cook. Oh dear.

I also got a perfume gift set. I'm horribly allergic- well not really allergic, but I get the worst freaking migraines from most perfumes. It's really horrible because sometimes I can't even be near someone wearing perfume or cologne, and very very horrible because I love scents. I treasure my sense of smell immensely. I can often identify people by their scent or guess what someone smells like before I get close enough to smell them.
BUT.
Somehow, through all of her sluttifying and babymaking and cheetos-eating, Britney Spears managed to make perfumes I can actually tolerate... and that I actually like.
I adore Curious (and wore it daily last year) and when she came out with a modification of it (called In Control) I loved it too. And today I got a gift set!
A huge black bottle with an In Control charm thing and one of those old-fashioned spray thingies. A rather large lipgloss that smells like white cake and butterscotch and has glitter (it's called Wild Side). A scented lotion. And a pink jewelry box that has a removable inner container with space for lots of rings, a thing for earrings, a "secret compartment" and some general space. And you can take it out and fold it up and snap it closed and carry it around! And the jewelry box has a mirror in it too.
I consider it to be one of the best birthday presents ever ever ever.

So while we were in Ybor, we were wandering around and saw CHALK WRITING. I got three pictures of three Jacob Christiano chalk writings. That was pretty cool.
And then I had steak at an Outback. Sometimes a girl just has to eat animal flesh, you know? I know, I'm horrible.

My boyfriend gave me a tiny teddy bear. <33 (More presents pending, of course. My boyfriend is not cheap :D)

I have to say, right now, that he is the absolutely most perfect person in the entire world ever. And he likes my new perfume. (Note to self: stop sniffing self. It's weird.)

It was a rather uneventful birthday as birthdays go, but I think things went pretty well.

My mother says another present is coming in the mail, so that's pretty cool.

I'll post the Jacob Christiano pictures up sometime next week. I was in such a hurry to take pictures of them I forgot to even read them, heh. But it's still cool to see some of his stuff on my birthday. I wasn't expecting that.

I hope you all had lovely Thanksgivings.

Birthday love from,
Ivyette @ 1:14 AM

EDIT:
This is the set I got. http://www.amazon.com/Curious-Britney-Spears-Control-Holiday/dp/B000JLHPBC
I have no idea why the picture is so small.
I'd like to think the one my mother bought was cheaper than that. I certainly hope so!

I got this today:

I turned 18 on Thanksgiving, as you all know.
My family is kind of weird. We're not holiday people- we never really celebrate holidays in any kind of ultra-special fashion. Unlike many people I've heard of, my parents would never think of kicking me out of my room to accomodate some random family member they don't even like. And my grandparents just kind of hate everyone. And also, my father works on every major holiday except Christmas Eve (he works Christmas day, though.) That's why holidays are very quiet, nothing-special affairs. Thanksgiving is possibly the least well-celebrated of the celebratory holidays, because my family resents the big fuss people make over how much food will be served. In my family, dinner often consists of a whole chicken with all of the trimmings. I mean, why not? Unlike many families, my family prefers real food over processed stuff, at least for dinner. This Thanksgiving was more eventful than usual because it was my birthday (I get my birthday off from school a lot because of the days it tends to fall on) and it was a nice affair. Birthday stuff )
And then we went to Cypress Gardens. )
But what you really care about are the presents! )

Time for more patheticness:
The last couple of days were truly the best days of my life. I can't imagine my life without him... it would be so empty. VERY empty. What would I do? Become an emo kid, I guess. I'm not obsessed with him, or needy, or clingy; just very much in love.
I'll stop now before people throw up or something. :)

Also, I tried to make some fudge recipe, but it... didn't work, lol.
I'll try again when I have the right ingredients. :)
Sparkle at yo homegirl! (That means TALK TO ME, in case you don't speak IvyBGreenflowerese :)) @ 2:27 AM

P.S. The Beatles still own your spleens, by the way.
