Gractionary, vol 1
Apr. 26th, 2006 01:48 amA documentation of the various words and phrases I use, and my definitions of them. Note that this isn't usually the proper definition :)
Clunked out: Asleep. Denotes that the sleeping was not casual and did not occur peacefully; people who have "clunked out" usually fell asleep quickly, oftentimes in uncomfortable or unconventional places and positions; for example, with one's face flat on a desk at school (or with the arms under the face, but in any case it's when the person is face-down.)
"I clunked out before I could even take off my jeans!" or "That lecture was so boring, I just clunked out; I hope she didn't notice."
Flailing (1): Freaking out. Entails loudness and/or a higher pitched voice, standing up and pacing or being generally jittery, and occasional wild arm movements.
Flailing (2): Running or walking quickly when you normally wouldn't have to, especially if you're an adult and it just looks weird. This is usually done when the person has to get somewhere quickly and is spazzing out about it.
So-and-so's Baby or Baby So-and-so: A person I don't know who looks like another person I do know; usually, they are smaller in size or are less distinguishable than their look-a-likes.
That's just no: That doesn't work, that's not right, I'm speechless, or I refuse to entertain that notion. The "no" is often repeated.
Another edition coming soon :)
